Financing Motorcycle Parts - F.A.Q.s

Should I Finance Motorcycle Parts and Safety Equipment?

If you’re like most Harley® riders you love your bike, but you’re never really done improving it. A Harley® is born, then it evolves as you continually modify until there’s a perfect union between your soul and that of your bike. And if you’re like most people, sometimes the cost of creating a custom motorcycle slows you down.

The economy hasn’t been so great lately, but interest rates are fantastic. That’s why we’re making sure everyone knows about the financing we offer through ACIMA, a company that allows you to finance motorcycle parts and service so you can get the ride you want now, regardless of your current credit situation. However, what they offer is a little different than typical financing or credit, so people have a lot of questions. We’re here to answer those today.

What Motorcycle Parts and Accessories Can I Finance?

It wouldn’t make sense to finance (and pay interest on) small things like T-shirts or home goods, but you can finance pretty much all safety gear and motorcycle parts. In other words, you could apply motorcycle parts financing to things like the following:

  • Exhaust systems
  • Bodywork
  • Foot controls
  • Gas tanks and accessories
  • Racks
  • Engine hardware
  • Clutch and components
  • Driver or passenger seats
  • Backrests
  • Windshields
  • Fork kits
  • Lowering kits
  • Suspension hardware

That’s just a partial list. Pretty much if Harley® or one of our aftermarket parts suppliers makes it, you can use motorcycle parts financing to pay for it.

You can also finance safety gear. So if you need a new helmet or riding jacket to make sure you arrive home safe, you don’t have to pay out of pocket to get the best available safety equipment.

Can I Finance Motorcycle Parts With Bad Credit?

One reason we use ACIMA for financing is that they don’t see customers as just one three-digit number. They understand sometimes credit mistakes happen, but that doesn’t mean a person is incapable or unwilling to take care of their financial obligations. They will lend even if you have low or no credit. Here’s what you need to qualify for motorcycle parts financing at Black Gold Harley-Davidson® in Allen TX.

  • Three months working for your current employer
  • Monthly income of $1,000 or more
  • Three months history with your current checking account
  • Healthy checking activity that includes no NSFs, overdrafts or negative balances

How Much Can I Finance Through ACIMA?

Depending on your income, you could qualify to finance between $500 and $5,000. You can combine items for financing. For example, if you wanted a $300 helmet and a $400 reach seat, you could apply once to finance the total amount, and make one payment on both items.

Is Motorcycle Financing the Same as Applying for Credit?

ACIMA motorcycle parts financing isn’t a credit card loan. It’s a lease purchase. What happens behind the scenes is, ACIMA pays Black Gold Harley-Davidson® for the motorcycle parts or safety gear you want, and they basically own it while you make payments. Depending on what you purchase and the lease agreement you sign up for, what you buy will become yours in either 90 days, 12 months, 18 months or 24 months. If you want to pay it off sooner by paying a lump sum, you have that option.

How Will Financing Motorcycle Parts Impact My Credit?

One great thing about financing motorcycle parts is that you don’t have to have great credit to get the parts or safety gear on your wish list, and our parts financing can actually help you improve your credit if it isn’t so great. ACIMA partners with Experian and reports your payments to them. You can qualify without good credit, and your on-time payments will help your score go up over time.

How Can I Know What My Payments Will Be if I Finance Motorcycle Parts?

Like most types of financing, your payment varies based on how much you borrow to begin with, plus the cost of financing. When you come by Black Gold Harley-Davidson® and pick out your merchandise, we can work up a lease agreement that shows your lease renewal payment amounts. You’re not obligated to sign your lease agreement unless the amount is something you’re comfortable with.

You’re also able to select payment dates based on when you receive your paycheck. Choose between weekly, bi-weekly, twice monthly or monthly payments so money is deducted based on what’s most comfortable for you.

ACIMA also offers different payment plans. If you complete your lease purchase agreement in less than 90 days, you’ll experience a substantial savings. As with most types of financing, you’ll pay less if you complete your purchase in 12 months than you will if you extend payments out over a longer period.

How do I Apply to Finance Motorcycle Parts or Safety Equipment?

We can help you fill out an application in the store or you can complete it online.
